Carl Froch: ” We All Want To See Jake Paul Get Knocked Out.”

Carl Froch has never been one to sugarcoat his opinions, and he’s certainly not holding back when it comes to the upcoming fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson. The former world champion has voiced his displeasure about the November bout, joining the ranks of boxers who are unimpressed with the matchup. True to his straightforward style, Froch has gone a step further, accusing the 58-year-old Tyson of following a scripted performance in a press conference that, to Froch, resembled poor theater more than authentic promotion.

In a recent video on his YouTube channel, “Froch on Fighting,” Froch aired his grievances about the spectacle. Known for calling out Jake Paul multiple times over the years—though those challenges have yet to materialize into actual fights—Froch appears particularly frustrated as Paul secures a bout with a legend like Tyson while his own calls have been ignored.

Froch criticized the recent press conference, describing it as highly staged. “Mike Tyson, I believe, is just playing a part,” Froch said, expressing his disdain. “In my view, Tyson probably has a script. The press conference had a lackluster shove, and Jake Paul stood there with a stern face without saying much. To me, it all seemed contrived and fake. It’s not even pantomime; it’s worse than pantomime because, as an ex-pro boxer, it’s just not enjoyable to watch.”

Froch isn’t merely casting shade; he’s accusing Tyson of participating in a pre-arranged narrative. He points to the awkward moment in the press conference where Tyson delivered a tepid shove, leaving many viewers puzzled. For Froch, this wasn’t just a poorly executed promo—it signaled that the entire event is more about selling a show than delivering a genuine fight.
