MY MOM STARTED DYEING HER HAIR A BRIGHT PINK AFTER TURNING 70, AND I THINK IT LOOKS RIDICULOUS.
Ever since my mom turned 70, she’s been dyeing her hair this bright pink color. I’ve tried to gently suggest that it doesn’t really suit her and that she might look silly, but she just laughs it off and says it makes her feel young and vibrant.
I can’t help but cringe every time I see her, wondering what people must think when they see an elderly woman with such an outlandish hair color.
Should I keep trying to talk her out of it, or should I just let her enjoy herself, even if I think she looks ridiculous? Has anyone else had to deal with a parent or grandparent making such bold style choices? How do you handle it?
Stop putting people in boxes! A person is not what is on the outside, everything important happens on the inside, and our expression of ourselves happen on the outside.
Love that your mom expresses herself like this! It’s awesome, and she’s beautiful. 
Well if she is that happy with it then maybe the argument isn’t worth it. She may even see it for herself one day. If anyone says anything to you, you can just laugh and say she’s happy and so that’s what’s important.

Let her be. She can do what she want. Every one 71 and I dare anyone try to stop me from doing or wearing what I want to do.
